Request for my old messages

Greetings from Hong Kong, my dear friends!
It is still early to send my best wishes to the New Year -- hope to do it a little bit later from China or Vietnam, where I probably be by that time.
Meanwhile my congratulations to Hannukah, which is rather early this year!
By now I have been travelling for 17 months -- and had only one unfortunate experience, of which I did not tell you before. I was robbed once in India. It happened on December 31 2003. The thieves got nothing of interest for them, but they took my notebook for 2003 with the diary of my journey. So when upon return home (hope in 6-8 months) and recording my deeds for posterity and dating my photos I will not have enough accurate information.
Besides, recently (when I was asked for my old messages from the road) I have discovered that I did not keep copies in my files. But I hope at least somebody has saved my messages. Their dates, location, and other information will be helpful in reconstructing my tripas well as in satisfying the interest of new members on this list of friends. So, please, do not discard the old messages, if you still have them. Email them back to me -- some now, but mainly after my eventual return home to my own computer.
Especially important are messages from shortly before the start of the trip on July 4, 2003 until the January 2004.

[Ed. note: some correspondence regarding the messages follows]
